Arranging entry into residential aged care can be a little overwhelming. We can assist with the application process and answer any of your questions as you navigate through the aged care system.
Your loved one will need to be assessed. The Government’s My Aged Care Service will refer you to the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). The team will make their assessment and then put approvals in place for your loved one to enter residential aged care. Residential aged care is for elderly people who can no longer live independently at home. Residents living in residential aged care receive accommodation, 24 hour on-site nursing care, meals, as well as assistance with daily domestic tasks and personal care.
At HillView Care we want all of our residents to feel at home and you decide how you are cared for. We are here to support your physical and emotional needs, but encourage all our residents to remain as independent as possible.
If you are an older person who can no longer live independently at home you may be eligible for aged care. As an older person you must be over 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people).
If you are a younger person with a disability, dementia or other special care needs that are not met through other specialist services, you can also apply for residential aged care.
Residential aged care homes provide a range of services including accommodation, assistance with day-to-day tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry. Aged care staff help with personal care including bathing, dressing and going to the bathroom.
Residents also have access to health services including clinical care and therapies and other health practitioners.
