HillView Care – Your home away from home

Moving into a new environment and out of your own home isn’t easy. For many people it’s an extremely daunting experience, especially for those who have lived in their family home for decades or recently lost a partner.

If you’re helping a loved one transition into aged care, there are many important factors to consider, but the number one priority is making sure they will feel at home in their new residence.

At HillView Care we understand all the challenges surrounding moving into residential aged care, that’s why making our residents feel comfortable is at the top of our list. As much as it’s an emotional experience for new residents, there are many benefits to moving into an aged care home.

So, how do we help residents feel at home at HillView Care?

Our staff are welcoming

From the very beginning, HillView Care staff are here to help your loved ones settle in and feel at home. We love to show prospective residents around our facilities, walking through our beautiful landscaped gardens and the multiple accommodation options available.

Once moved in, our staff prioritise getting to know new residents, often building strong bonds and lasting friendships with both residents and their families.

We understand many new residents may feel unsettled at first, but our staff will go out of their way to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable.

Residents live their way

If your loved one comes to live at either our HillView Ashmore or Merrimac aged care homes, you can be sure they will have the flexibility to live their life as they wish.

We respect the individuality of each resident and understand that privacy and respect is important for aged care residents. Our staff are passionate about encouraging all residents to remain as independent as possible.

Residents can be as social as they like at HillView Care, deciding for themselves whether they participate in the many activities and events hosted by HillView’s diversional therapists.

Comfortable accommodation

Forget pokey rooms where you can’t swing a cat, accommodation at HillView Merrimac and Ashmore aged care homes are spacious and comfortable. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by our variety of room types, catering to everyone’s needs.

At Merrimac, our architecturally designed home features sweeping verandahs and generous sized rooms that cater for both singles and couples. Each room comes complete with a private ensuite, living area, large built-in robe and a large feature window or sliding door to capture the stunning views. Most rooms open onto a verandah or terrace.

At Ashmore, residents enjoy the highest standard of aged care accomodation to make them feel right at home. We think our Ashmore home feels more like a beautiful boutique hotel with ornate detailing, a leafy outlook and double french doors that open onto a covered verandah or garden terrace.

When moving into a HillView Care home we encourage new residents to bring along special keepsakes, photos and other items to help them feel more at home and create a more familiar environment.

Delicious meals served every day

At HillView Care we pride ourselves on our delicious menu that’s endorsed by a dietician.

Our talented chefs prepare everything on-site with fresh ingredients, offering an extensive choice of home-cooked meals.

As a resident of HillView Care your loved one will be served breakfast, morning tea, a hot lunch or salad, afternoon tea, a 3-course dinner and a light supper.
